  • H&V’s fuel filtration media provides long lasting filtration efficiency of up to 99.9% for particles at and above 4 microns, resulting in longer filter element replacement intervals.
  • New glass-free H&V media addresses the growing number of water separation challenges due to increased use of bio-fuels and lower IFT (interfacial tension). Our media meets the >95% ISO and SAE separation requirements.

H&V designs and manufactures both glass containing and glass free fuel media, including full synthetic options.  Our product line covers fuel applications globally in a wide variety of efficiencies, dust holding capacities (lifetime), and water separation options.

H&V provides filtration media for virtually all fuel applications including diesel, bio-fuels, kerosene, jet fuel, and gasoline. We are able to customize our media to meet the needs of the application.  For example, filtration layers can be combined with water separation layers using unique lamination technologies that deliver long life and high performance single stage products. Our products offer both single-phase and multi-phase technologies and are available in these broad construction families:

  • 100% synthetic and glass-free composite media available up to 99.9% efficiency at 4 microns 
  • Multi-phase, ultra-thin composite microglass media up to 99.9% efficiency at 4 microns
  • A wide variety of dust holding capacity (lifetime) and water separation options

H&V continues to develop even more advanced composite media able to meet the newest engine needs in emerging regions where varying levels of fuel quality make it a challenge to achieve ISO 4406 world fuel cleanliness levels. Our newest design and manufacturing processes provide greater roll-to-roll and lot-to-lot consistency, giving you easier pleater set ups and a more optimized production process. H&V can provide corrugated versions of virtually all of our fuel media with an option to add spunbond to any media layer for protection and strength. With mills in the U.S., Mexico, Germany, U.K, China, and India, H&V provides globally consistent products and short production lead times.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q)  Do you have glass free media options available?
A)  Yes, we do manufacture a wide variety of completely glass free fuel media, in single phase or composite versions, including efficiencies of greater than 99.9%

Q)  Can your media be used with bio-fuels?
A)  Yes, all of our media are compatible with exposure to bio-fuels. However, in order to get the best performance in bio-fuel filtration you should consult with your account manager to find the best media for your application.

Q)  Is the microglass used in your glass and some composite fuel media designs safe for common rail diesel systems?
A)  When properly manufactured, microglass media has proven to work effectively and safely in common rail diesel systems. In fact, the inclusion of the microglass is responsible for the higher efficiency and higher permeability of our many of our fuel media.

Q)  Does H&V make fuel media with meltblown?
A)  Yes, H&V provides a full suite of fuel media made with cellulose, microglass, synthetic, and meltblown fibers. We can supply 100% meltblown media or composite media of meltblown with a base sheet which provide the optimum combination of efficiency and filter capacity.

Q)  How do I know the types of resin treatments available on your media?
A)  Your account manager will be able to describe what type of resin treatments are applied to the media we recommend for your application. This will vary based on the type of application. We do treat our media in order to add strength, modify filter performance, and to improve water resistance/separation.
