Hollingsworth & Vose Implements Price Increases to Cover Escalating Raw Material and Energy Costs

East Walpole, MA December 4, 2006: Citing continued high costs of raw materials and energy, Hollingsworth & Vose announces a general price increase effective with orders shipped on or after January 2, 2007.

The cost of raw materials and energy used in the manufacture of H&V's nonwovens and engineered papers continues to increase, with certain raw materials at record high historical levels. In Europe, energy costs are poised for a significant increase in 2007. Despite prior price increases, H&V is far short of recovering these costs and will continue to work aggressively with suppliers to minimize the impact. H&V remains committed to providing customers with products that offer the best combination of performance and value. Company representatives will contact customers with specifics over the next few days.

Hollingsworth & Vose Company, established in 1843, is a global leader in the supply of technically advanced filtration media, battery separator materials and industrial nonwovens. The company operates manufacturing sites and research centers in the Americas, Europe and Asia.
