Engine & Industrial Filtration | Applications | Industrial Filtration

Industrial applications place great demands on air and liquid filtration. Our R&D team is recognized around the world for its ability to apply materials technology to your most difficult industrial filter media requirements. We produce a wide variety of cellulose and cellulose-meltblown composite products with high fractional efficiencies.

Gas Turbine & Dust Collection

H&V's gas turbine and dust collection media are designed to meet the rigid performance requirements of industrial pulse cleaning and air intake filter applications. We offer a wide range of cellulose, cellulose/polyester fiber, and polyester glass combinations. Greater polyester reinforcement stabilizes the pleats and provides greater moisture resistance. These grades are designed for optimal performance in difficult environments ranging from dusty, arid areas to high humidity, coastal areas. Many are available with fungicidal treatments, if desired. These products have higher efficiencies at sub micron particle sizes and are available in flat or corrugated form. Our gas turbine and dust collection media produce strict fractional efficiency control that extends the periods between filter maintenance.

Hydraulic

We supply a wide range of hydraulic filtration media - from standard mobile applications to specialized industrial liquid filtration. Our products include the entire spectrum of filter media from cellulose, cellulose/synthetic, meltblown, base microfiberglass, and laminated. Filtration performance characteristics range from Beta ratios of <4 micron(C) to 40micron(C) or higher on some pre-filtration grades. We design media to specifically meet your needs, including requirements for higher capacity (Hovoglas®Plus, DualPhase, or DualLayer), lower pressure drop (Help, Meltblown), or reduced chemical resistance using special binders. Some of our major product lines are listed below:

Help (High Efficiency Low Pressure Drop): This media offers low pressure drop for any desired efficiency, or higher efficiency at comparable pressure drop. It features high yield (more pleats) due to low caliper and no compression of media during conversion.

Hovoglas® (Base): The base product line comes in several forms. Single-phase media contain one layer of glass with natural gradient density for higher dust holding capacity (DHC) and low cold start pressure drop. In the dual-phase offering, an efficiency and capacity layer are formed at the paper machine to provide higher DHC than the single-phase media. In dual-layer form, single-phase layers are laminated together with a scrim for maximum flat sheet DHC.

Hovoglas (Laminated): The product line also is available in laminated versions. Laminating a scrim adds durability and speed during pleating. Laminating with cellulose eliminates the need for mesh with lower pressure applications. We also provide custom laminating for use with different processes.

Hovoglas Plus (Laminated): This next-generation product provides improved performance over previous lamination processes. It offers higher DHC, lower initial pressure drop, and no change in efficiency

Other hydraulic filtration media include Microglass Fiber Papers, a lighter weight media; Meltblown (Polyester) in calendered and uncalendered forms; and Cellulose Fiber Blends for low pressure.
