Technostat, a coarse fiber electret media manufactured by H&V,
has been specifically designed for respiratory applications. During
the manufacturing process, a charge is generated on the surface
of the electrically dissimilar constituent fibers. The result of
this patented process is a highly stable, synthetic, coarse fiber
Tribo electret filter media. This unique, innovative product concept
provides an effective solution in filtering particulate to 0.05
micron in size.
Technostat's extremely low resistance to airflow ensures maximum
protection, breathability, and user comfort with minimum inward
leakage and user fatigue, regardless of the protective device worn.
It is ideal for use in heavy exertion applications where user comfort
is a critical consideration.
Technostat is technically proven and industry tested. It conforms
to most European and worldwide performance standards including EN-149,
EN-143, and EN-141. Families of Technostat and Technostat/Meltblown
composites have been developed to comply with new USA NIOSH 42 CFR
84 regulations and offer the user a range of fit/comfort design
options. These filter materials are ideally suited for respiratory
products such as:
- Molded cup, fold flat disposable, and twin mask applications
- Half mask pre-filter pads
- Powered helmets
- Smoke hoods
These media are available in rolls (composite or individual component),
sheets, converted filters (cut pads), and pleat pack forms. In-house
testing is available for flat sheet and/or finished masks and respirators
for all NIOSH and EN specifications.
