Wallcoverings

H&V offers the first direct-print nonwoven substrates that make wallcoverings simple to hang and simple to remove. There’s no need to use "the system" and its special primers, pastes, and tools when it’s time for removal. H&V’s residential substrate, WallTek® and commercial substrate, HollTek®, are easy to install and easy to remove in single sheets, every time, without damaging the walls.

These materials have exceptional dimensional stability and meet the technical and decorative requirements of both residential and commercial wallcovering producers. With a surface that can be directly printed, they eliminate the need for additional coating or laminating. All of H&V’s substrates are environmentally friendly and PVC-free. The material is breathable with high air permeability to resist mold and mildew formation -- a growing health concern.

H&V produces a full line of substrates and wall liners that meet virtually any wallcovering requirements.

Innovative Technology for the Wallcovering Industry

Borrowing technology from papermaking, textile production, and film manufacturing, H&V’s engineered nonwoven "fabrics" have been specifically developed for the wallcovering industry. Company technologists recognized that today’s interior decorators are placing rigorous demands on wallcovering products. Commercial and institutional customers in the hospitality, government, educational, and health care markets require environmentally friendly wallcoverings. These materials must be easily disposable and should not contain materials that support mold and mildew growth - a growing health concern. In addition, residential and do-it-yourself customers want wallcoverings that are dimensionally stable, hang easily, and strip effortlessly during redecorating. And wallcovering manufacturers want substrates that do not require expensive and time-consuming coating and laminating processes.

WallTek and HollTek substrates are delivered to the wallcovering producer ready to print on all of the platforms used in the industry: surface, flexo, roto-screen, or rotogravure. H&V has also used this technology to develop coating substrates that can accept acrylic, plastisol, or other print ready coatings, while preserving dimensional stability and stripability.
