SUMMARY:

The Electrical Engineering Manager will have the responsibility for overseeing the engineering and design of industrial process electrical distribution systems, including overseeing installation, assisting with commissioning, and start-up of new electrical distribution components or systems.  All electrical engineers will report to the Electrical Engineering Manager.  As the Manager of the group, the development of the electrical engineering staff and assigning projects to the staff is expected.  The administration and management of capital projects is required as well as providing input in the development and execution of the company wide capital program.  Assisting mill staff in diagnosing and rectifying operational problems with existing electrical infrastructure systems hardware and software may also be required.  Travel and on-site support during project construction, commissioning, start-up, and operational improvement stages to US domestic and International sites should be anticipated.  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leadership and oversight of projects assigned to the electrical engineering group.  This may include managing the project schedule, cost, scope, and objectives.
  • Development and training of the Electrical Engineers.
  • Setting of company standards for the electrical distribution system.
  • Effective execution and completion of assigned tasks as an Electrical Engineer of a team executing a larger project.
  • Administration of assigned projects including the preparation of capital project requests, project status reporting, participating in and or conducting project meetings, coordination of construction activities, and project close-out reporting.
  • Responsible for all stages of capital project engineering and design activity to include the development of alternative solutions to meet project objectives for presentation to management.
  • Oversee construction work performed by mill maintenance and/or outside contractors during installation, commissioning, and start-up of assigned projects.
  • Ensure adherence of established H&V safety policies and practices.
  • Conduct training of operations and maintenance personnel as needed.
  • 10.  Assist mill maintenance and production departments in troubleshooting and correction of equipment and electrical problems
  • 11.  It is essential that the person have access to ITAR and other export controlled information.  The candidate should be either a US citizen or green card holder.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the electrical distribution industry and/or an industrial consulting engineering design firm with relevant hands on experience, including project management experience.  Electrical distribution in the paper industry preferred.
  • International project experience desirable.
  • Professional engineering license preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certificate preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND ENVIRONMENT: 

  • The position will be working in and around the operating floors so all the typical restrictions that would apply to our production personnel would apply. 
  • Person needs to be able to walk up and down stairs and work in tight or confined areas.
  • Often person is working with live electrical circuits and must be able to wear the necessary PPE to prevent injury.
  • Person must be able to hear with ear plugs, see well enough with safety glasses to work in a production environment, speak clearly to be understood by hourly employees for training and to provide direction, walk and stand on concrete floors for a considerable period of time, climb stairs and ladders, and work with a computer screen for long periods of time.

SUMMARY:  

Responsible for the short-term and long-term strategy and profitable growth of the Automotive Energy Storage market segment. The position is accountable to understand, communicate and influence market growth trends and to manage the global matrix cross-functional teams that develop, manufacture, supply and sell H&V products to customers. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Lead market research. Develop a global view of markets, trends, threats and opportunities. Understand markets and value chains beyond individual customers.

2. Develop and communicate global market growth strategy; ownership of long range planning for the market segment.

3. Lead field-marketing, develop deep understanding of how and why customers use our product.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

1. A minimum of a BA or BS in a technical or business discipline; MBA preferred.

2. A minimum of 3 years business to business marketing to industrial or technical markets.  Automotive industry experience a plus.

3. Experience in primary and secondary market research methodologies; pricing, segmentation, positioning, marketing communication and strategy development required.

SUMMARY:

The Health and Safety Manager will plan, direct, and implement health and safety programs and policies for the West Groton Mill.  This person will be responsible for the health and safety of the mill in compliance with all Federal, State, and Local Government regulations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures the health and safety of all employees, visitors and contractors through the adherence to all applicable standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Develop plans, programs, and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with all governmental safety and health rules and regulations.
  • Plans and implements programs to train managers, supervisors, and employees in work site safety practices, loss prevention, ergonomics, and correct handling techniques for chemicals, toxins, equipment, and other materials. 
  • Prepares studies and analyses of industrial accident causes and hazards to health for use by company personnel and outside agencies.  Assist supervisors in accident investigation and direct analysis of accident data to develop procedures or controls to prevent recurrence.  Institute JSA into work practice.
  • Responsible for all reporting of safety requirements for internal and external sources.  Ensure compliance with all government agencies.. 
  • Provides oversight and Health and Safety support for the East Walpole mill
  • Develop and administer the plant emergency procedures and first aid, including planned drills.  Maintain relationship with local town, county, and/or city emergency response departments.
  • Inspect facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards; determine corrective or preventative measures where indicated; and follow up to ensure measures have been implemented.
  • Direct and conduct sampling and studies (air, noise, ergonomics, etc.) to identify health and safety hazards to employees.  Analyze results to recommend corrective measures via engineering and/or administrative controls as appropriate.
  • In conjunction with appropriate production, engineering and maintenance staff, review and approve all process, plant and equipment plans and revisions thereof for risk assessment and evaluation of the effectiveness of same regarding safe working environment.
  • Partners with plant, regional and corporate resources to implement proactive solutions to minimize at risk conditions and at risk behaviors.
  • Interacts with and provides visible leadership to all employees, particularly those on the plant floor to drive safety awareness, engagement and improvement.
  • Improves safety by continuously increasing a level of awareness and improving safety systems in an effort to eliminate accidents and injuries.  Leads and maintains plant safety direction in accordance with the Hollingsworth & Vose Operating Systems (HVOS).
  • Completes inspections and audits to detect and eliminate unsafe practices and conditions.
  • Facilitates the monthly plant safety meetings, safety walkarounds, and assists supervisors with monthly crew safety meetings.
  • Collects and analyzes injury data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
  • Maintains the Plant MSDS records.
  • Provides 24/7 availability to plant, as required.
  • Supervise HSE staff direct reports.  Set objectives, assess performance and manage development plans. 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety & Health or chemical, environmental, or civil engineering or other related field
  • Minimum of 5 - 10 years relevant experience
  • Union experience preferred
  • Experience with EHS Management Systems (ISO 14001, 18000, OSHA VPP)

  • Normal office environment most of the time but will require working in and around the operating floors so all the typical restrictions that would apply to our production personnel would apply.

SUMMARY:

The Maintenance & Reliability Manager will be responsible for providing direction, and leadership for our site’s mechanical maintenance shop and personnel, and provide oversight of the parts storeroom. Supervises and schedules technical support for mechanical maintenance, projects and modifications and emergency response for the support of machinery, process equipment and associated buildings.  Additionally he/she will supervise the maintenance staff as well as hourly maintenance employees and provide backup supervision for hourly electrical employees.  This position is expected to lead mechanical installations and maintenance functions in a way that the level and quality of service enables high manufacturing effectiveness.  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop organizational model for maintaining the assets – Planned Maintenance, Preventative, Predictive, Operator Performed Maintenance, Operator Assisted Maintenance.
  • Design and lead the work process for plant and equipment maintenance.
  • Establish performance monitoring system of maintenance initiatives.
  • Develop Standard work practices for processing work requests into work orders.
  • Periodically review PPM program initiatives for value and improve PPM results using targeted maintenance strategies.
  • Create and Participate in Plant Maintenance Audits.
  • Demonstrate accountability for the expenditures of the Maintenance Budget (AOP).
  • Optimize the utilization of PMC system for data collection and utilization / drive utilization of the system for data driven decisions.
  • Lead the planning for non-capital short term and long term maintenance outage schedules.
  • Lead the creation of a job plan Library / Archive with BOM’s.
  • Drive emergency work requests to less than 5% or all work requests.
  • Design and lead the work process for improved equipment reliability.
  • Prepare documentation for Reliability Centered Maintenance Reviews.
  • Participate in RCM reviews.
  • Maintain Critical Spares List and spare parts.
  • Demonstrate accountability for stores / maintenance parts management in compliance with budget initiatives.
  • Use PMC or develop a stores monitoring (measuring), trending and reporting system tied to work orders.
  • Insure competencies are in place for Maintenance or Non-Maintenance Technician Electrical, Mechanical, and instrumentation work.
  • Insure adequate maintenance trouble shooting skills are in place and used.
  • Lead and actively participate in Root Cause Analyses.
  • Provide assistance and data to the organization for equipment reliability detractors.
  • And other related duties as assigned or required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • BS in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Civil, Environmental, Paper Science or equivalent experiance.
  • 5+ (five) years of prior experience, including employment in a process‐related industrial facility.

  • Ability to effectively handle multiple priorities, and establish and meet financial and schedule constraints.

SUMMARY:

The Maintenance & Engineering Manager will be responsible for providing overall direction, leadership, and support for our facility, maintenance, and engineering programs so that the plant’s long range and annual operating plans are achieved.  This position will have responsibility for the engineering and design of capital projects for the Mill and managing the activities and effectiveness of the Maintenance and Facilities Departments. 

Engineering: 

Lead and support the capital and engineering programs, including Energy and Sustainability improvements.  (50%) 

Facilities: 

Lead and support the plant facilities and infrastructure programs.  (25%) 

Maintenance: 

Lead and support the plant’s maintenance & reliability programs.  (25%) 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure regulatory compliance in all matters associated with plant’s facilities, engineering, and maintenance work.  This includes dams, hydro and solar electrical generating equipment.
  • Demonstrate personal value and establish standards of excellence for safety and environmental stewardship.
  • Work with the Site HSE Manager to consistently improve Maintenance and Engineering safety and environmental performance.
  • Demonstrate work practices and standards that are consistent with expected H & V cultural values and Guiding Principles.
  • Leadership for the development and implementation of safety procedures for the installation, repair and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and control systems for all Technicians and contractors.

  • Command an understanding of engineered solutions for hydro and solar-powered electrical generation to reduce mill’s dependency on fossil fuels.

  • The desire to continue learning about energy efficiency and to gain expertise in the evaluation field.

  • Lead the development of the annual capital project program for new equipment and major repairs through the management of assigned capital projects and project leaders. Responsible for effective project management, project team leadership/coordination, and administration of assigned projects.
  • Leadership for the development and implementation for safe electrical and process control maintenance practices and Engineering design for all installed equipment and for all new equipment installations.
  • Provide shop floor support and leadership for Electrical, Instrumentation, and Process Control initiatives.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 7 (seven) years of prior experience, including employment in a process‐related industrial facility and/or an industrial consulting engineering design firm with relevant experience and skills.
  • Experience working in a Pulp and Paper related field is preferred.
  • Must have strong Project Management Skills and Competencies.

  • Experience executing and leading electrical, instrumentation, and process control field service work.
