SUMMARY:

The Commodity Manager is responsible for developing, establishing, and executing optimal commodity & sourcing strategies. Establish & enhance Supplier relationships through skillful negotiating and relationship development to drive sourcing & supplier initiatives to meet or exceed product quality, service & deliver sustainable cost reductions, and reduce risk in the Supply Chain. Responsible for collaborating with internal stakeholders and aligning on optimal sourcing strategies to develop and implement a Commodity Strategy for the assigned category.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify raw material sourcing strategies, negotiate pricing and delivery to ensure uninterrupted flow of raw material to H&V facilities through effective supply base management. 
  • Identify alternate suppliers, coordinate qualification trails and supplier workshops with key suppliers. 
  • Utilize strategic sourcing and total cost analysis strategies to drive suppliers and spend including online auctions to effectively manage the commodities.
  • Strategically manage raw materials spend; ensure quality, sourcing and commodity strategies are in place, competitively priced and compliant with any laws/regulations and working capital levels meet or exceed corporate objectives.
  • Identify cost savings opportunities and manage cost reduction activities to achieve 5% annual cost reduction goal with supply chain leadership, utilizing a formal strategic sourcing process.
  • Collect and analyze market and supplier data, develop sourcing options for review and concurrence by the applicable business unit, and implement approved strategies timely to capture savings and value to the business.
  • Gain supplier involvement in supplier management to drive continuous improvement and productivity.
  • Lead cross-functional team(s) in the identification of alternative products and suppliers, facilitate qualification trials, and conduct supplier management to drive continuous improvement.
  • And other related duties as assigned or required.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • BS/BA degree required.  MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years experience in raw material sourcing and procurement, preferably in engineered papers and nonwovens related industry.
  • Excellent background in supplier management, commodity strategy development/execution, contract negotiations and manufacturing operations.

  • Thorough knowledge of suppliers globally and global sourcing strategies; including low cost country sourcing experience, good knowledge of energy and logistic markets.

SUMMARY:

The Help Desk Analyst’s role is to help users resolve issues with computer hardware or software. They respond to inquiries, assess problems and issues with IT equipment and applications, and help resolve these issues for users.  Problem resolution may involve understanding the nature of an issue, investigating the issue and reaching out to SME for assistance.  This also includes providing desktop support at user’s desk and remotely.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Attend and triage the IT requests and technical assistance from the end users over the phone, incident management system, and chat in a courteous manner.
  • Perform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions
  • Document all pertinent end user information, including name, contact information and nature of an issue in the ticketing system.
  • Provide accurate information on IT products or services
  • Walk the customer through the problem-solving process
  • Install, configure the new computers and software.
  • Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel
  • Identify and learn appropriate software and hardware used and supported by the organization.
  • Perform hands-on fixes at the desktop level, including installing and upgrading software, installing hardware and configuring systems and applications.
  • Validate the fixes to ensure problem has been adequately resolved.
  • Provide training to the end users.

SUMMARY:

This position will safely fabricate, troubleshoot, rebuild, and repair plant equipment to maximize safety, quality, and uptime. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Complies with safety, environmental, and quality requirements established by external and internal regulations.
  • Adheres to general and key job related ISO quality system procedures as defined through company Quality documents.
  • Maintains skills in protecting the safety and health of self and others while conducting the work.

  • Fabricates, troubleshoots, maintains, repairs, and rebuilds key process equipment in a way that ensures equipment is safe to operate and maximizes equipment’s useful life.
  • Receives work instructions from supervision.
  • Observes and inspects conditions of products, equipment and tools, to ensure compliance with quality standards.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • State of Oregon Journeyman Millwright Card (or equivalent) required.
  • 5 years of industrial mechanic experience.  Demonstrated skills in all of the following:  gas cutting and welding, SMAW welding, MIG welding, TIF welding, pipe threading and fitting, machine tool operation, proper hoisting, lifting and rigging procedures, pump and blower rebuilding, lubrication, large bearing setup procedures, shaft alignment practices, blueprint reading.
  • Expert-level skills in 2 or more of the following:  hydraulic systems, water treatment and purification systems, waste water systems, casting and curing refractory, precious metal fabrication techniques, natural gas/air mixing and delivery systems, instrument calibration, gas/diesel/electric vehicle systems and mechanical power transmission.

  • Reviews process and QA data on an ongoing basis to verify conformance to specifications, and oversees setup and start-up of processes.  Must learn the process controls and Wonderware system.
  • Applies company policies, administers applicable provisions of labor agreements, and ensures compliance with work, safety, quality, and environmental regulations.
  • Studies production schedules and establishes worker assignments.  When necessary, calls in employees to fill vacancies.
  • Tests for adequate job training, assists workers in solving work problems, and conducts employee qualification reviews.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Required Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college, university or technical school; or 3-4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Required valid Oregon driver’s license.
  • Required ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. 
  • Required ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Required ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
  • Preferred training in managing people, personnel communication, constructive confrontation, coaching and discipline, and principles of SPC.

SUMMARY:

The role of the Quality Manager is to ensure the product H&V provides is fit for use, is consistent and meets both external and internal requirements. The Quality Manager monitors and advises on the performance of the corporate quality management system and produces data and reports on performance measuring against set standards. They will advise changes and how to implement such, providing training, tools and techniques to enable others to achieve quality standards. This role also holds responsibility for supporting the development and maintenance of a continuous improvement, customer-focused culture within the organization.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Achieves quality assurance operational objectives by contributing information and analysis to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer service standards; identifying and resolving problems; completing audits; determining system improvements; implementing change. 
  • Meets financial objectives by estimating requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Develops quality assurance plans by conducting hazard analyses; identifying critical control points and preventive measures; establishing critical limits, monitoring procedures, corrective actions, and verification procedures; monitoring inventories.
  • Validates quality processes by establishing product specifications and quality attributes; measuring production; documenting evidence; determining operational and performance qualification; writing and updating quality assurance procedures.
  • Maintains and improves product quality by completing product, company, system, compliance, and surveillance audits; investigating customer complaints; collaborating with other members of management to develop new product and engineering designs, and manufacturing and training methods. Facilitate the mill process to ensure completion of 8D (or equivalent) investigations and execution of root cause corrective actions to agreed timelines for all complaints.
  • Prepares quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends including failed processes, stability studies, recalls, corrective actions, and re-validations.
  • Ensure an effective quality process which (1) ensures raw material CoA requirements are met and logged within the mill quality system prior to use (2) executes raw material testing as required. Notify mill network of relevant supplier quality issues through the use of the Quality Alert. Support supplier audits as required; ensure suppliers execute appropriate corrective actions relating to H&V supplier complaints.
  • Applies Lean Six Sigma thinking to deliver significant operation improvement and financial/quality benefit. Aligns Lean Six Sigma initiatives and project objectives to business strategy, and prioritize projects accordingly.
  • Coordinate and support execution of 3rd party quality audits, ensure effective closure of all agreed actions, communicate progress to the 3rd party.
  • Provide leadership and mill ownership for the Management of Change (MOC) Processes, specifically the Engineering Change Request (ECR) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
  • Ensure an effective QC process which (1) maintains MSA compliant standard work for all routine quality tests (2) maintains equipment in calibration and seek to minimize all failure modes in frequency and duration (3) ensure all testing executed in compliance with standards and that all media meets defined and agreed quality test specifications (4) ensures CoA and other agreed data is provided on time to the customer.
  • Provide test and data analysis support for internal and external root cause investigations.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • BS Engineering or equivalent technical field.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.
  • 5 years demonstrated work experience in an analytical role.
  • 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • High level of computer literacy.
  • Well developed technical, verbal and written communication skills.
